I've been watching Archer all night long, and I'm not complaining
Also, my about.me page is doing better than I thought it would. If you're interested, I'm about to post that link again.....

After the late lunch (we had finished around 3:00), I was going to go to my other grandma's house for dinner and relaxing before improv, but on a whim I turned off onto the exit to get to Andy's house and gave him a surprise visit because I'm kinda an awesome girlfriend. I pulled into his driveway and started texting him something along the lines of "Hey! Whatcha doin'?" and I was planning to reply with "That's nice! I'm just chilling in your driveway!" and blowing his mind, but his mom was gardening and came up to the car and my cover was blown. So instead, she called down to his basement for him "There's a surprise up here for you!!!!" and he came upstairs and was flabbergasted. After all the hectiveness of the day, I'm so glad I was able to do something sweet like that for him.
After that, I was heading out to get lunch at a local sushi restaurant with my friend Maddi. On my way to pick her up, I had to run a few errands for my mom, but she gave me directions for getting to Maddi's house from where I was running the errands. Of course, in typical Emily fashion, I got horribly lost and wound up 35 minutes away from Maddi's house. By the time Maddi and I arrive at the restaurant, we discover that it's been closed all of July and it was going to reopen tomorrow. Instead, we went to Steak & Shake and it was very delicious.
Today was a pretty eventful day. First, I had to take my grandma to get some testing done at a local hospital. They were 45 minutes late getting to it...

While in New York, one of the keynote speakers talked about how it'd be wise to make a LinkedIn profile and an about.me page, so I did! My about.me page is here.
In other news, I don't want school to start. As busy as I've been, it doesn't even feel like I've been gone. I'm not ready for the stress and work yet.
Also, Archer is a fantastic show.
I'm back from my adventures at my grandma's house! Her cats, who are usually the shyest things and avoid me and my sister at all costs, played with me and it was something! Afterwards, I went to American Eagle and bought some clothes with the rewards certificate I got from them. AE is right across the aisle from my Famous Footwear, but I hardly ever shop at the mall since I'm always rushing to work. Right now I'm waiting for the water to boil so I can make my mac and cheese. I haven't had mac and cheese in FOREVER and I've missed it so much. This time around, I'm using shells because we're out of elbow macaroni, and I'm adding in bacon bits for extra fun and yumminess. Expect pictures later!!!!
In other news, I exercised a little this morning and had a healthy breakfast, so yay progress!!!!! I'm heading to my grandma's house soon to clean silver (which is my favorite chore, it's soooo addicting) and then I'm going shopping a little, so I'll be back later!

Good morning, readers!

Last night, one of my roommates broke up with her boyfriend and was feeling down, so I  made her a playlist on grooveshark. I'm posting it here in case any of you ever need it.

Welp, I failed on the gym promise too- there was a power outage so I couldn't go. There's always tomorrow.......
Well, I started my healthy day well walking my dog... Aaaaand then I tripped up. At least I'm going to the rec center soon. Hopefully good workout cancels out bad food?
Good morning readers!!!! This morning I'm working to get back into my healthy swing. At the seminar in New York, we weren't allowed to exercise (I mean come ON!!!!) so I haven't been doing as well in the health region. New York also messed up my eating since it was harder to find healthy options in the dining hall. Here goes nothing!

I'm feeling a lot better today. I'm still pretty stuffed up, but I'm better than I was. I have work later, but I'm too tired to start getting ready. My posting game has been really really weak lately, and I'm sorry about that.

I've been feeling kinda sick so I'm heading to bed very early. Goodnight, my favorite readers and NSA agents!!!!! I've missed you!!!!!!

I'm really really really craving cheeseburgers now dammit Shake Shack

I'm very glad to be home, though. I missed the food and Andy and shtuff. For real though the food at Fordham, the university that was hosting the program I was attending, was sooooo mediocre. They did have good bagels, grilled cheese, and cookies though. Everything else was rather eh. I did try the food at Shake Shack near Times Square. There aren't any Shake Shacks in the Midwest, and I really wish there were now!!!!
I'm back from New York!!!!! It was quite the adventure. I didn't get to see much of the city, but I still had a lot of fun. My roommates, Meagan and Alex, were amazing and I love them like sisters! They were the highlight of the trip.

Sorry, again...

Again, I'm sorry for the lack of posts. My sister's been hogging the laptop.

Damn Pretty Little Liars.........
I had some really interesting experiences with customers while I was there. I had this one really rude family that were absolutely awful!!!! While signing them up for a rewards card, I just said I assumed that their last name was spelled exactly as it sounded and they treated me as if I was a complete imbecile! It wasn't like I was asking how it was spelled... The absolutely lovely darling teenage daughter said "No shit, Sherlock," and her even more endearing mother started talking down to me and saying all sorts of rude things. I hope they get hit by a bus.

People say that you can judge a person by how they treat waiters and waitresses. If they treat retail workers like that I don't wanna know how they talk to waiters and waitresses...
I didn't really post much last week; I worked literally every single day!!!! I had some great hours, so I can't complain. I did want to chop off my feet at the end, but I survived and that's all that matters!

Since I have that early morning meeting, I'm going to get to bed. Sleep tight!!!! Or good morning/afternoon/evening, depending on your time zone!
It'll be significantly harder for me to post a lot this week because I'm working so much. As I was coming in, two guys were leaving. One is coming back in two weeks, but I still need to pick up a lot of his hours until he does. That might work out though, since it seems a considerate amount of people actually look at my blog during the times when I'm never posting.
Tomorrow I have my first staff meeting at work. I'm sure it'll be boring, but hey, I'm getting paid to sit around for four hours so I'm not gonna complain! I'll also be getting my first paycheck from this job, and really my first paycheck ever. When I worked at Starbucks it was a direct-deposit system so I never actually got a physical check before. I'm excited! And also super duper broke so thank goodness!!!!

The Black Friar Inn at Bar Harbor, Maine

I know I'm getting ahead of myself on the details of my vacation, but I just HAD to say something about this absolutely fantastic eatery/bed and breakfast where I dined in Bar Harbor, Maine on the journey back to Ohio. From start to finish the experience was phenomenal. The bar maid, Michelle, was very helpful to us when it came to picking out what to eat, and beers to drink for my aunt and uncle. She knew a great deal about the food and the work put into making it, and never hesitated to find the right answer to a question. The restaurant had absolutely fantastic dinner rolls, baked fresh and super doughy, that they served with a to-die-for maple and blueberry butter. It tasted like a blueberry pancake or muffin in the end! For dinner, my sister ordered their "beer-soaked burger" which is exactly as it sounds- a burger patty marinated in beer before it gets thrown on the grill. It was juicy and phenomenal, from the taste I had. My uncle had a steak, which was cooked perfectly pink on the inside and could be cut easily with a butter pallet or even the side of one's fork. It was served with delicate thinly-sliced scalloped potatoes and blanched and buttered green beans. I had lobster thermidor and it was SPECTACULAR!!!!!  The chef was kind enough to make a special one just for me to accommodate my aversion to onions, shallots, and the like. It was beautifully plated, and the flavors were spectacular. The best dish of the night, however, was my aunt's salmon. The salmon at The Black Friar was divine!!!! It was cooked perfectly, melting in one's mouth. It was coated in a thin and delicate spinach and dill sauce which brought out all the natural flavors and enhanced them. I don't think I'll ever have such perfect salmon anywhere else!!!!

I'm no food critic, but if I was I would give The Black Friar 10/5 stars for their above-and beyond service, atmosphere, and food!

The Lobster Thermidor

7/6/14

Today I just got back from one of my dad's campaign parades. My official parade job is passing out dog biscuits to all  the dogs at the parades. I love it! Everybody else loves it too; there's always comments like "awww how thoughtful of the Judge to pass out dog treats!" Plus it's great to see all the happy and adorable dogs. Before doing this, I was never a fan of walking parades. There was too much walking for my taste, and they were always loud and miserably hot. This time around, my dad's campaign's parade game is strong. His opponent brings his candy in WAL-MART BAGS and they've never had more than 10 (with five of them being his family) people show up to walk with him (whereas we have between 20-30 every time). I firmly believe that my dad has this in the bag.

With all of these vacation photos, the blog is finally living up to its name!

Prince Edward Island Day 1

After getting out of Maine, we drove for hours and hours across the middle of nowhere in New Brunswick, Canada. Around 5:00 we had reached the Confederation Bridge, our road to PEI. The Island was gorgeous, and can best be described in terms of gemstones- the sapphire sea, the ruby-red cliffs, and the emerald fields were all a landscape artist's dream!

That night for dinner, we went to a restaurant called Lobster on the Wharf. It had a stunning view of the harbor in Charlottetown, and right next door we could see people setting up a concert venue for the PEI celebration of the 150th anniversary of the signing of the confederation that unified Canada. The food was good for the most part. My sister, aunt, and uncle all had the traditional lobster dinner (which I regret not eating myself) and they all enjoyed it very much. The restaurant had phenomenal rolls, too. I was tempted and had the lobster mac and cheese carbonera, but was very disappointed with it. The cheese sauce was very lacking, and overall it was meh. If I had had something else, I'm sure my experience as a whole there would've been much better. Here's a picture of the restaurant.

I got my scores for the AP tests I took in May back, and I'm very happy!!!!! Colleges that give out a lot of credit for AP courses are high on my list.
After leaving Portland, I went to the coolest restaurant ever!!!!! In nearby Brunswick, Maine there was a restaurant called Frontier. It was located in an old mill/warehouse right on a scenic rocky river. Not only is it a restaurant, but it also serves as a music venue, art-house movie theater, and art gallery! On the walls they showcased the artwork of local youth, and every week they rotate in new artwork. I had fabulous bacon-wrapped pork that was smothered in blueberry sauce (blueberries are HUGE in Maine) with mashed parsnips and cauliflower and brussel sprouts. It was a phenomenal meal, and an even more phenomenal venue! Someday I hope to go back to Maine, and when I do, Frontier better still be there!!!!!

Portland, Maine

These pictures were from my second day of vacation on the way up to Canada. We stopped in Portland, Maine for the afternoon. I really enjoyed Portland, it was a cute town filled with great shops, interesting artwork, and delicious food! One interesting stop there was a Soda Bar. I've never seen anything like it in my life; it was set up like a bar, but it only served all-natural handmade sodas. The "bartenders" were all teenagers, as well. I got a cherry cream soda, and it was delicious!

I'm back!!!!!!

Oh my goodness, I've been gone for so long!!!! I've missed blogging very much. My vacation was absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!! There will be pictures to come! I was very surprised to see all the pageviews I've gotten while I was gone, especially from Russia! Hello my new Russian readers!!!!!
